Opportunity Summary
The responsibilities of the teaching assistant include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Provide insight, guidance, and feedback to students in the development and execution of strategic communications campaigns for agency clients.
• Lead group discussion sessions.
• Assist the instructor with classroom instruction.
• Communicate periodically with clients to ensure satisfactory support and progress is being made by the student account teams.
• Assist with the setup, maintenance, and student support of software applications utilized by the students including MuckRack (media database), FunctionFox (time tracking), and Basecamp (project management).
• Maintain inventory and order supplies and materials.
Learning Outcomes
- Guide students through the process of developing and implementing a research-based, strategic integrated communications campaign.
2. Serve as a liaison between the clients and student teams to manage expectations and ensure a positive experience for both.
3. Lead group discussions that encourage engagement and collaboration.
4. Manage multiple client teams and projects to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Training
- Provide training and support on software systems.
2. Conduct one-on-one meetings after each discussion session or lecture by the teaching assistant to provide critique and tips.
3. Work one-on-one with the assistant to teach them the RPIE planning structure to ensure proper teaching of the industry-standard methodology.
4. Provide critiques and feedback from periodic reviews of client calls.
Tasks/Duties
- Assessment of their understanding of the RPIE structure of strategic campaign planning from their lectures and/or group discussions.
• Observed effectiveness in managing multiple projects and teams.
• Feedback from students from discussions and lectures delivered by the assistant.
