Hospital Leadership InternshipAt — Tri-City Medical Center
We currently have credit internship in social work and nursing but would like to expand this to College of Business Administration Students. Student Interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a professional setting. They will be paired with a hospital leaders, such as the Chief Nurse Executive, directors or managers and will learn leadership, management, finance skills, and contribute to various performance improvement projects.
Gain practical experience in a professional environment. • Conduct research on industry trends, market conditions, and financial regulations. • Learn budgeting and forecasting processes and participate in this process. • Assist in the analysis of financial performance, including variance analysis and trend analysis. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various business initiatives. • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and networking events. • Opportunity to work on real projects and make meaningful contributions. • Mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.
All students will be paired with a mentor/preceptor who will orient them to the organization, mission, job/intern description, explore interests that align with their academic work, and help them engage in work that is meaningful and can help them gain experience in the industry. Depending on their area of interest (management, finance, marketing, business administration), they would be paired with the right department/leader.
All students are oriented to safety procedures and are not placed in high risk areas.
Students who are interested can reach out to Sarah Jayyousi at stjayyousi@tcmc.com. They would need to complete clearance process (background checks, etc.). We are currently working on a grant to cover the cost of Clearnce but currently the cost is $127. Hoping to get this grant in the next month.
