Position: 

Assist with the development of specific climate change, natural and cultural resource interpretive programs. Projects will include but not be limited to: research and report-writing in support of climate change programs, amending current program offerings to include climate change interpretation, developing new programs to interpret natural and cultural resources at Asilomar, social media posts, marketing park events, distributing flyers, collecting and entering data regarding programs at Asilomar, delivering programs to visitors and school groups.

Desired Skills: 

Science literacy, especially climate change literacy required. Interest in interacting with the public regarding the park's resources and climate change. Social media literacy. Graphic design experience a plus. Experience working with the public is a plus. 

Available hours: 

Tuesday - Saturday: 10 AM - 6 PM, some evenings 

Opportunity Training 

Fellows will be required to complete the long-term volunteer process before beginning service.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

POPULATION SERVED: Students may be working unsupervised with minor or other vulnerable populations.,

SUPERVISION: Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people.
