College Corps Opportunity
Real Food Challenge (RFC) exists to educate and empower students to have agency in their campus food systems, and to support their local food system through shifting how their campus spends money on food.
College Corps Fellows will further the RFC mission of educating college students by creating media and events that educate their fellow students about their campus food system, the benefit of local/sustainable food, and how to be an active participant in making campus food benefit everyone!
After RFC trainings and onboarding, we will support you creating and executing plans for the following tasks:
- creation and distribution of educational materials highlighting the benefits of Real Food.
- planning and holding community building, educational events for fellow students, inviting them to collaborate on future events.
- creation and facilitation a campus club/organization to continue the pursuit of the Real Food Challenge mission.

Requirements:
- Computer Literacy
We have a functional training program that starts with acclimating to our organization through history and culture presentations. We hold 1 on 1, as well as group meetings with other students, and facilitate peer to peer learning with more experienced fellows. We facilitate over zoom and in person whenever possible, including at least one weekend long intensive. We have trainings on all of our materials, as well as in support of growing student skills applicable to our work: team leadership; facilitation; public speaking; strategic planning; event planning; etc We also work to slowly grow responsibility among our fellows, and aim to invite them into appropriate tasks for their experience.
Opportunity Supervision
We will have weekly 1 on 1 zoom meetings, as well as biweekly group meetings where we will coach, mentor, and advise students. We will utilize SMART goals, Before Action Reports, After Action Reports, Pre-Mortems, periodic review, and strong project management as tools to support their success. We will track actions through sign-in sheets, qr code engagement, social media and photographic documentation, as well as through storytelling and community engagement. We also connect students to fellows on other campuses, enabling question and answering, peer to peer education and support, and to validate their success and struggles.
