Opportunity Summary 

Interns learn about Dementia and Memory care. Interns observe and interact with residents. Interns shadow multi-disciplinary care teams. Interns develop social programming to assist with residents well being. Interns may interact with family members and provide support and education. Interns will be supervised at all times and will not be alone with residents or provide any physical care.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Interns should have a clear understand of dementia types, communication and behavior needs. Interns should grow confidence in recognizing the differences and varying needs of the residents. Interns should understand the multi-disciplinary offerings in Assisted Living.

Opportunity Training 

HIPPAA, Elder Abuse and Dementia training will be provided.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students may be exposed to colds, flu, Covid-19 illnesses.
