Physical Therapy InternshipAt — Terrio Physical Therapy & Fitness.

Terrio Physical Therapy is a local owned physical therapy clinic with several locations in the ken county area, with locations specializing in orthopedics, neurology, and pediatrics. The clinic that its posted for this internship is an outpatient orthopedics clinic focusing on musculoskeletal disorders. The student will interact and observe pt with a variety of medical conditions, including post surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain, neurological disorders, among others. 

Tasks:

• Identify different components of SOAP notes 
• Be able to identify different components of patient flow sheets. 
• Become familiar with common exercises used in PT clinics
• Be able to identify the proper equipment needed for each exercise
• Pt will demonstrate proper hygiene techniques when in the clinic, including washing hands frequently.

Being able to Identify specific exercises for appropriate body parts, to help, in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. The intern will demonstrate their learning outcomes by being able to describe what a SOAP note is and how it is used in the medical field. 

Training:

Training will consist of 1on1 time with a licensed physical therapist to understand daily working dynamics of Physical Therapy clinic. Physical therapist will go over all tasks, and expectations during internship including the schedule, dress code, daily tasks, and behavior. Intern will shadow Physical Therapist during Initial evaluations and treatment sessions with permission from patients.
