Congressional InternAt — Office of Congressman Darrell Issa

Opportunity Summary

Interns will work with staff to serve the Constituents of the 48th District of California. Interns responsibilities may include: general administrative support tasks, assisting staff with constituent casework, writing, research, greeting guests, and more. Part-time and full-time candidates are encouraged to apply. We are delighted to work with candidates seeking to earn educational credits. The start and end date of the internship, as well as the hours worked per work, can be tailored to meet the student’s needs. However, we prefer interns commit to at least 6 weeks of service and a minimum of 15 hours a week. We find that Interns are able to learn more, and therefore experience more productive tasks, with these commitments.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes

Since we are a none-political office, we encourage and accept all students with diverse backgrounds, political preferences, and educational paths.

Opportunity Training

Three trainings are mandatory: Cyber Security, Worker's Rights (which includes Mandated Reporter training), and Congressional Ethics.
