Opportunity Summary 

The Marketing committee oversees all public relations (PR), marketing, and media creation leading up to and during Youth in Motion. Responsibilities include developing targeted marketing campaigns, creating promotional materials, and managing the organization’s social media presence. Members collaborate with other committees to coordinate media requests and ensure consistent messaging. The Marketing Committee (including the Coordinator) also reports to the Communication Specialist of VAALA, Corey Linh, in order to ensure all marketing materials align with the overall mission and image of the organization.

Tasks:

Campaign Collaboration
Work with the marketing coordinator to plan and implement marketing campaigns by contributing creative ideas and providing constructive feedback.

Content Development Support
Assist in the creation of brochures, flyers, and digital materials by offering input or drafting initial versions.

Press Release Assistance
Participate in writing and editing press releases for key events and announcements in collaboration with the communications team.

Social Media Engagement
Support social media efforts by drafting and posting content, engaging with followers, and promoting posts to increase outreach.

Branding and Messaging Review
Review marketing content to ensure consistency with the organization’s branding standards and communication goals.

Training:

The student will receive regular weekly meetings with the team to provide progress and provide mentorship, assigned into projects that they will be assigned to, and assist coordinator with any tasks that required hands-on.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
- Collaborate with the coordinator to implement marketing campaigns, contributing ideas and feedback.
- Assist in developing brochures, flyers, and digital content by providing input or creating drafts.
- Collaborate on writing and editing press releases for major announcements and events.
- Support social media efforts by creating posts, responding to comments, and sharing content to enhance visibility.
- Act as a liaison to other committees, gathering information and ensuring effective communication regarding media requests.
