Opportunity Summary

We’re looking for someone to help us look at our current administrative, physical and digital structures and work with us to create a plan to grow into our next chapter of building a new program that will be a new ministry called Grounded Hope ESC, Monterey. This opportunity will include assessing and building foundational pieces for our small non-profit. We hope this opportunity will provide our community with some much-needed structure. There is a need for updated standard perating procedures and disaster preparedness plans alongside assessing our human resource capacity. The church needs a plan for its digital presence. We hope to work with someone who is interested in any or all these components. We are open to meeting you where you are on your journey and look to uplift your gifts as you help us build a solid foundation for our ongoing mission to help serve our community.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes

We hope students will learn how to assess and provide recommendations for structural practices for operating procedures in a small non-profit and will be able to assess and provide recommendations on human capacity relating to projects and programs. Will learn about their own interests in working with small non-profits including religious non-profits. And learn some of the nuances of religious non-profit work. We also hope students will enhance their understanding of working with digital tools including websites, social media and other administrative tools for fundraising and marketing.

Opportunity Training

Current teams working on these projects will provide an orientation including current progress and goals to bring the student up to speed on the work being done. The supervisor will provide an orientation for all current systems and tools being used. This will also include an introduction to the teams and time to acclimate. The tasks and training provided will be tailored to the interests and goals of the student.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity

Right now our office is only accessible by stairs. We are very willing to offer a hybrid experience for this reason. We have other spaces in our building for someone to work from they just wouldn't be office like. The supervisor is willing to travel for meetings. This is a flexible program.

Opportunity Application Instructions

We will be working with the CHHS Department and students interested in Public Administration/Non-profit Management to fill this site placement. Please work with that department for more information and application instructions.
