We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, hard-working student with experience in nutrition, physical fitness, and/or public health who is interested in childhood overweight, obesity, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). We are looking for reliable interns to help with various projects, presentations, assistance with off-site group exercise, and/or one-on-one and group patient education, who meet the following criteria:
-Available at least 2 days per week, preferably on Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 9 am-5 pm, but not a must
-Must be an effective communicator
- Spanish, Arabic, and Vietnamese speakers highly desired
This opportunity is very hands-on and requires reliability and ability to take initiative.

Description of Tasks:
- Nutrition education/patient counseling/Mental Health awareness
- Exercise planning and teaching
- Translation with MD, RDs, and fitness trainers
- Communicating with various sites
- Formulating patient education materials
- Program review/evaluation
- Writing blogs
- Healthy social media/marketing
Training:
Students will receive initial general employer orientation, weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings, job shadowing, and the possibility for a paid position.
Learning Outcomes:
- Effectively communicate with and counsel families
- Professionally disseminate health, nutrition, and exercise information
- Efficiently plan one-on-one and group sessions
- Creatively plan handouts, brochures, blogs, and other patient education tools
- Enthusiastically assist with outreach and promoting services to other health care providers
