RAD Camp Fall InternshipAt — RAD Camp
General Information: The RAD Intern will come alongside the Executive Directors, Program Coordinator and Program Assistant in all elements of program and event planning coordination and execution for RAD Camp. This may include but is not limited to, research, timelines, budgets, vendors and more. Interns will also learn volunteer, participant and sponsor management, including some fundraising initiatives. Basic support of social media and communications efforts will also involve the intern.
Best Suited For:
- Interest in Event Planning, Non-profit Management, serving those with developmental disabilities, or a related field of study is preferred
- Experience working with people with disabilities is a bonus!
- Hardworking, reliable and dependable with a personal interest in serving others
- Possess excellent writing, research, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrates high levels of attention to detail and personal accountability
- Comfortable taking initiative and able to multi-task
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with other design software is a plus!
- Knowledge of social media apps, including Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, etc.
- Access to a laptop, cell phone and car is preferred.

Duration
Our internships are available for one semester. For rockstar interns, there could be an opportunity to extend your internship for longer. We do require a minimum of a 3-month commitment.
Hours
Schedule is flexible but candidate must be able to commit to 14 hours a week, at least 2 days a week. Interns will also be given the opportunity to attend on weekends or evenings based on programs and events.
Compensation
This position is an unpaid internship; college credit is provided as applicable. This internship will also provide immeasurable access and benefits to those who invest in the program and allow for the opportunity to support programmatic planning, volunteer relations, participant relations, fundraising, event planning and more!
Tasks:
The interns will support all elements of program planning, coordination and execution for RAD Camp, including but not limited to, research, timelines, budgets, design, vendors, setup, execution and strike. Interns will also support volunteer, participant, and sponsor management for RAD, including some fundraising initiatives.
Training:
The RAD Intern will come alongside the Executive Directors, Program Coordinator and Program Assistant in all elements of program and event planning coordination and execution for RAD Camp. Students will be given all the tools they need in order to complete tasks and always encouraged to ask as many questions as possible!
Learning Outcomes:
The student will be able to help support a one-of-kind nonprofit, focused entirely on service to those with developmental disabilities, build a portfolio of work they will be proud to show future employers, gain real-world application of skills developed in non-profit management and recreational program planning, build their experience and knowledge of a diverse amount of services, programs, companies and vendors throughout Southern California, and inspire so many others to RISE ABOVE DISABILITIES!!!
