The Pop-Hop Books Co-Op

Organization Description

The Pop-Hop is a worker-owned bookshop and “third space” prioritizing local, emerging, and marginalized voices. Through our consignment program, gallery, and ongoing open call for events and workshops, we provide a platform for artists, authors, poets, musicians, performers, and other creatives to showcase and sell their work. We also maintain one of the largest zine collections in Southern California. The Pop-Hop opened in 2010 and became a co-op in 2021.

Health & Safety

Our space is a public storefront on a business corridor of Northeast LA. University participants may be interfacing with diverse people of all ages, abilities, languages, cultures, genders, sexualities, and backgrounds including unhoused folks and celebrities.
