Child-Enrichment AssistantAt — Crayola Imagine Arts Academy of Los Angeles North Valley
Join us in inspiring children through creative arts! Crayola Imagine Arts Academy offers hands-on arts and crafts activities at schools, camps, community events, and senior centers. As a volunteer or intern, you’ll gain valuable real-world experience working with children and families while supporting enrichment programs that nurture creativity, confidence, and curiosity. Opportunities include helping with arts stations, assisting instructors, and engaging directly with participants. This is a fun, flexible way to earn community service hours, practicum credits, or internship experience while making a positive impact. We welcome students pursuing child development, education, art, psychology, nursing, and related fields.
By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned effective communication and group management skills, how to engage young participants in creative activities, and strategies for fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Before placement, applicants will receive training that covers four key areas. First is a program overview and mission (about 30 minutes), introducing Crayola Imagine Arts Academy’s purpose, the goals of the activities, and the role of volunteers and interns. Next is child interaction basics (30 minutes), focusing on positive communication, group management, encouraging participation, and supporting inclusivity. Activity assistance and safety (approximately 45 minutes) follows, covering how to help set up and supervise arts stations, handle materials, maintain a safe environment, and monitor for hazards. Finally, there will be training on policies and expectations (30 minutes), outlining volunteer conduct, dress code, attendance, reporting procedures, and guidance on where to turn with questions or concerns.
All activities use non-toxic, child-safe art materials and equipment. Volunteers and interns will assist in maintaining a clean, organized workspace and ensuring proper handling of supplies. They will help monitor children to support a safe, positive environment and will be briefed on emergency procedures, including how to contact the site lead or event coordinator. Students are expected to follow Crayola Imagine Arts Academy’s safety guidelines and report any concerns immediately to their supervisor.
