Organization Description

Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC) is a Joint Commission-accredited, private, non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center system serving the Central Valley of California .

Golden Valley services span from newborns to geriatric adults. There is a network of 21 clinical sites and eight dental sites. GVHC's health centers are located in the rural and urban communities where their patients reside.

Program Information

Students will help create or find appropriate curriculum for support groups for depression and anxiety. They will shadow seasoned clinicians, be trained on our documentation and charting standards, to meet medical necessity and billing criteria, using the latest version of the DSM. They will take on a small case-load of individual patients, will assist with screening and triaging of patients presenting with a potential crises or needing urgent services.

Health & Safety

Attend "new employee onboarding training" and take Basic Life Skills Certification as they will be in a medical clinic, interacting with patients.
