This open internship position will help support the LGBTQ Immigrations Department at the LGBTQ Center OC. This support will help promote the program, services, and groups that the Center provides to the community. Main areas of focus will be phone banking, work with detention centers, immigrant legal assistance, resources for immigrant population, translating, outreach & education.
To help the student achieve the learning outcomes, a learning agreement to discuss expectations both from the organization and student. With the agreement an understanding of tasks will be laid out, goals the student would like to reach, and a clear explanation of what the Center will do in training and providing education on serving the community. Weekly or Bi-Weekly check-in and meetings will be conducted to ensure the student is receiving all the expected support, ask questions, and clarify the Center is meeting the educational needs as well.
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to strategize and develop knowledge to assets with help to promote services, events, and programming. They will understand strategies in providing resources, education, tools and services for the LGBTQ Immigrant population while working both with staff and other supporting organizations. They will also learn more about the LGBTQ+ community and their needs in Orange County.

NOTE:
This position would need to have a commitment of 5 months or two semesters/quarters.
