Opportunity Summary 

Overview

BayRidge Effective Therapy, a California-based telehealth mental health practice, offers a structured internship designed to teach students how mental health marketing and clinical education function within a real group practice.

This is a mentorship-driven experience where interns are guided step-by-step in developing, executing, and evaluating outreach campaigns while also learning how to translate clinical knowledge into engaging, accessible content.

Interns will focus on three key audiences:

    • California college students preparing to start or return to school

    • California high school juniors and seniors

    • Prospective clients using in-network insurance (Aetna, Quest, Cigna, Blue Shield, TriWest, United, Oxford, Optum)

What You’ll Learn

This internship is designed so interns are not just completing tasks, but learning the strategy behind everything they create.

Interns will be trained in:

    • Turning clinical concepts into engaging, ethical content

    • Building and organizing a content strategy from the ground up

    • Marketing therapy services while staying HIPAA-compliant

    • Using data to evaluate and improve performance

    • Understanding how a group practice develops both client-facing marketing and internal clinician training materials

Mentorship & Team-Based Learning

Interns are supported by a multidisciplinary team, providing exposure to different roles within a growing practice:

    • Strategic Marketing Director
      Guidance on campaign strategy, audience targeting, and how to think big-picture about growth and branding

    • Business Manager (Social Media Lead)
      Hands-on teaching in content creation, platform management, posting strategy, and day-to-day execution

    • Networking & Relationship Lead
      Support in understanding professional relationships, community engagement, and how partnerships grow a practice

    • Clinical Supervisor
      Oversight to ensure all content is clinically accurate, ethical, and aligned with mental health best practices

This structure allows interns to learn how each role contributes to a successful, scalable practice.

Core Responsibilities (Applied Learning)

With guidance and supervision, interns will:

    • Create and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

    • Develop posts aligned with campaign goals and BayRidge’s brand voice

    • Research trends, hashtags, and mental health awareness topics

    • Maintain and update a structured content calendar

    • Track engagement and performance metrics

    • Collaborate with supervisors to refine and improve content

Hands-On Training Experience Content Creation

Learn how to design:

    • Graphics, reels, and captions using Canva

    • Infographics that simplify mental health topics

    • Content that feels relatable, engaging, and clinically sound

Campaign Planning

Learn how to:

    • Build a content calendar across multiple audiences

    • Align content with seasonal trends and student timelines

    • Create intentional, goal-driven campaigns

Clinical Training Content Development

Interns will also contribute to BayRidge’s internal training library by:

    • Translating clinical trainings into digestible visuals and guides

    • Creating infographics and presentations for associate clinicians

    • Learning how therapists teach and share knowledge within a group practice

Research & Trend Analysis

Learn how to:

    • Identify meaningful trends (not just viral ones)

    • Integrate mental health awareness events into campaigns

    • Balance engagement with ethical responsibility

Platform Management

Gain experience in:

    • Scheduling and publishing content

    • Understanding platform-specific strategies

    • Maintaining consistency and brand alignment

Analytics & Strategy

Learn how to:

    • Track reach, engagement, and click-through rates

    • Interpret performance data

    • Make strategy adjustments based on results

Collaboration & Feedback

Interns will:

    • Present drafts for review

    • Learn how to apply feedback from multiple team members

    • Refine work to meet professional standards

Final Portfolio & Report

By the end of the internship, interns will create:
