Environment and Community Research AssistantAt — Climate Action and Sustainability Center at CSUSM

Opportunity Summary 

Research, gather, organize, and analyze qualitative data for the center’s regional “Valley to Coast” project. Will be responsible for reaching out and communicating with local organizations focused on climate change, climate action and sustainability.  This position will also assist in organizing the Center’s events and participating in developing ways to engage the campus community, especially students in our goals.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

This position will provide a student with the opportunity to: develop research skills related to community organizations and other sources of qualitative data about our region, develop communication skills, event planning and coordination and how to be organized with complex projects.

Opportunity Training 

The student will be working alongside a faculty member who leads the project and will be assisting in data collection and organization throughout the whole internship. They will be trained on proper communication skills when reaching out to the community.
