Teacher Assistant InternAt — Railroad Canyon Elementary School

This internship will help students build a strong foundation for navigating the educational field, starting with instructional support, student engagement techniques, and classroom management. Interns will gain: * Practical teaching experience, including how to effectively deliver instructional material that meets diverse learning needs. * Classroom management skills, such as maintaining a positive and proactive learning environment while addressing student behavior effectively. * Communication and collaboration skills, developed through close work with students and mentorship from experienced educators. Lake Elsinore Unified School District interns are expected to adhere to all LEUSD Board policies, which are available at any time on the district's website: www.leusd.k12.ca.us. These policies have also been included in the informational packet provided during the volunteer badge process required for campus access. The intern has received an overview of key agreements, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Statement of Understanding, the Declaration of Public Employees as Disaster Service Workers, and the Drug- and Alcohol-Free Workplace policy. No additional formal training is required for interns to succeed at this site, as they will receive continuous on-the-job training. This included guidance in using classroom equipment, navigating school software, and supporting classroom management. Mandated Reporter training is not required, as interns will remain under direct supervision of a District employee at all times.

Applicants are required to complete the Lake Elsinore Unified School District's volunteer process, which includes submitting a Live Scan request form for fingerprinting and providing proof of a current TB test.
