We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented SEO Intern to join our team at Marketing Empire Group. This internship is a hands-on opportunity to learn how search engine optimization works in the real world and gain experience working on active client campaigns.
As an intern, you’ll work closely with our SEO specialists to support digital marketing strategies that drive visibility, traffic, and results. You will learn industry-leading tools, techniques, and processes that will prepare you for a career in SEO and digital marketing.
Tasks:
Interns will be engaged in professional, pre-professional, and skill-building activities that directly contribute to client projects and the overall SEO strategy. Tasks will include:
- Conducting keyword research and competitive analysis to identify optimization opportunities.
- Assisting with on-page SEO, including optimizing meta tags, headers, content structure, and internal linking.
- Supporting technical SEO audits, such as reviewing site speed, mobile-friendliness, indexing, and crawlability.
- Compiling and analyzing SEO performance reports using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other industry tools.
- Researching industry trends, algorithm updates, and competitor strategies to provide recommendations for campaign improvements.
- Collaborating with the SEO team to develop and implement strategic optimization plans for client websites.
- Contributing to content optimization by aligning website copy and blogs with targeted keywords and SEO best practices.
These tasks are structured to ensure students are applying academic knowledge in a professional setting, while developing advanced SEO and digital marketing skills.
Training:
Students will begin their internship with a general orientation to Marketing Empire Group and the SEO department, followed by weekly one-on-one mentorship meetings to review progress and provide guidance. Training will include hands-on practice with keyword research, on-page optimization, and analytics reporting, as well as opportunities for job shadowing and exposure to live client campaigns. Interns will also participate in workshops on SEO tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console, receive clear context for assigned tasks, and gain access to resource materials to reinforce their learning.

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
Conduct SEO Research & Analysis – Perform keyword research, competitor analysis, and identify optimization opportunities using industry-standard tools.
Implement On-Page SEO Strategies – Apply best practices for optimizing website content, metadata, and internal linking to improve search visibility.
Evaluate SEO Performance – Track, measure, and interpret website performance metrics through platforms such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Understand Technical SEO Fundamentals – Recognize and recommend improvements related to site structure, indexing, and crawlability.
Apply Professional Communication & Collaboration Skills – Work effectively within a marketing team, contribute ideas, and clearly communicate SEO recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
