Modify classroom environments or materials to remove barriers and foster inclusion—such as adaptive seating, varied material formats, or alternate instruction methods.

Observe and assess children's performance and make adjustments to activities so each student can fully engage, regardless of their unique needs or abilities.
Conduct authentic assessments and ongoing observations to identify students' behavioral patterns, strengths, and challenges.

Collaborate with a team (teachers, specialists, therapists) to set individualized goals and select accommodations that address specific needs.

Analyze the function behind each student's behavior to proactively select and implement targeted supports and replacement behaviors.

Training:

Implement a diverse range of unique program models; from STEM centered after school programs, adventure education, arts and enrichment day camps, and everything in between. We teach leaders trauma-informed behavior management tools and purpose-driven systems that sustain quality while creating replicable success in any after school setting.

Since its inception, After School Unlimited has facilitated hundreds of trainings and trained thousands of leaders. These leaders have gone on to become social justice change agents. We have touched the lives of thousands of people who spend their days making a better future for communities and are excited to see the lasting positive impact we continue to make on the communities we serve.

The ASSET® series is a universal, trauma-informed onboarding framework implemented in hundreds of schools throughout Southern California. We help after school leaders create better experiences for students to build a powerful foundation for an extraordinary life.

Learning Outcome:

1. Plan & activities for a range of ages and abilities.
2. Identify students' complex behaviors and unique needs to support students throughout the program.
3. Correspond with parents and families with updates and feedback around each students behavior plan.
