Castle Family Health Center
Castle is proud to be the chosen organization for the program entitled “The View Point” Hosted by Dennis Quaid to represent so many of the Funded and Non-Funded Community Health Centers across the nation.
Onboarding training for behavioral health interns ensures they are prepared to provide safe, ethical, and effective care. Training begins with a thorough review of agency policies, including confidentiality, informed consent, and the limits of privacy. Interns learn how to clearly explain informed consent to clients, including treatment goals, risks, benefits, and client rights. Mandated reporting requirements are emphasized, covering legal obligations to report suspected child, elder, or dependent adult abuse, along with procedures for documentation and notification. Additional training covers HIPAA compliance, cultural humility, ethical decision-making, and professional boundaries. Interns are oriented to the electronic health record, outcome measures (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7), and evidence-based treatment protocols. Shadowing supervisors allows them to observe best practices in patient engagement and documentation. This structured onboarding supports competence, confidence, and accountability, while reinforcing the importance of ethical, client-centered behavioral health care.
