Social Media/Communications InternAt — Cityline Church

Opportunity Summary 

The Social Media/Communications Intern will support Cityline Church’s communication team in creating and managing digital content for online platforms. The intern will gain professional experience in social media strategy, content creation, and digital communication while contributing to organizational projects. Additional exposure to administrative tasks and team collaboration will prepare the student for future roles in communications, marketing, or nonprofit leadership.

Tasks:

- Create and schedule social media posts (graphics, captions, short-form video).
- Assist with content planning and campaign development.
- Capture and edit photography/video content for communication projects.
- Monitor audience engagement and track analytics for digital platforms.
- Support communications team in producing newsletters, web content, and promotional materials.
- Occasionally assist with light administrative support (e.g., organizing media files, note-taking at meetings).

Training:

To help the intern achieve the proposed learning outcomes, we will:

1. Provide an initial orientation on organizational mission, communication guidelines, and workplace policies.
2. Conduct weekly mentorship meetings with the supervisor to evaluate progress and provide coaching.
3. Offer hands-on training in social media management tools, video editing, and graphic design software.
4. Include shadowing opportunities with communications staff during content planning and event promotion.
5. Provide formal midpoint and final evaluations to review progress and outcomes.

Learning Outcome:

- Design, edit, and publish digital content for social media platforms using industry-standard tools.
- Apply communication strategies to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Use project management skills to plan, schedule, and execute communication campaigns.
- Analyze social media performance metrics and recommend strategies for improvement.
