Through this opportunity, students will gain valuable, hands-on insights into the multifaceted role of a Physical Therapist. Specifically, they will learn about the diverse range of clients served within a clinical setting, from pediatric patients to geriatric individuals with a variety of musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions. Furthermore, students will develop and practice effective communication strategies tailored to individuals with diverse personalities, communication styles, and disabilities, ensuring inclusive and patient-centered care.
By the conclusion of this internship, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted role of a Physical Therapist, encompassing both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of the profession. They will specifically learn how Physical Therapists expertly assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans to address a wide array of physical impairments and disabilities. Furthermore, students will observe and participate in strategies that Physical Therapists use to help maximize the functional abilities and overall quality of life for individuals living with physical disabilities, enabling them to achieve greater independence and participation in daily activities.
Hands on in house training. Shadowing and observing for the first few weeks as needed.
This internship is designed to be a learning experience, emphasizing observation, administrative support tasks, and educational components within the healthcare environment. Students will not be involved in any direct patient care or hands-on treatments. The primary focus is on providing a safe and ethical learning environment that adheres to all healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality protocols.
