in the past the schools we have worked with send a list of tasks they would like the students to get exposure to. Typically we are able to accommodate those lists. We will show the student basic skills to be a veterinary assistant. We will let them shadow and assist with treatments on patients.
Interns will receive training on all hospital safety protocols before beginning hands-on activities. This includes proper animal handling techniques to reduce risk of injury, use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and gowns when appropriate, and adherence to hygiene and sanitation standards to prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases. Interns must follow staff instructions closely during procedures and should never attempt tasks beyond their training or comfort level without supervision. Emergency procedures and first-aid resources will be reviewed during orientation to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
