Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring for a Companion Caregiver to provide services to patients/clients in their places of residence.

Responsibilities:
- Provides “hands off” care such as:
- Providing and encouraging socialization
- Encouraging a mild exercise program
- Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
- Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
- Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
- Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
- Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
- Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
- Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
- Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
- Proficiency in the English language is required
- Computer proficiency required
Tasks:
support the well-being and independence of the care recipient by providing assistance, managing their health, and offering emotional support and companionship.
Personal Care:
Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and toileting.
Mobility Assistance:
Helping with safe transfers (e.g., from bed to wheelchair), assisting with walking, and ensuring the environment is safe to prevent falls.
To be a source of comfort, engage in meaningful activities, and encourage social connections for the care recipient.
Effective Communication and Advocacy:
To act as a liaison with healthcare providers, family members, and other support systems, ensuring the care recipient's needs are understood and met
Maintain Dignity and Independence:
To help the individual maintain their personal hygiene and autonomy to the fullest extent possible
Training:
First: Online trainings / Module based
Then: Orientation
- weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings

Caregivers, will learn skills such as communication and patience, the importance of empathy and compassion for building connections, and the ability to develop essential problem-solving skills to navigate challenges in a person's care.
