Organization Description

Founded in 1990, the Preservation Action Council of San Jose is a dynamic nonprofit 501(c)(3) membership organization dedicated to preserving our unique and diverse architectural and cultural heritage. Through advocacy, education, and civic engagement, we promote historic preservation as an essential tool for fostering equitable, distinctive, sustainable, and prosperous communities.

Health & Safety

Lead and asbestos are located in the building materials (as are many buildings built prior to the 1960s) that make up the warehouse that we intend to open as a "reuse" facility, but we are not disturbing the building materials - that is not part of our project.

The building where they will be working is ADA compliant and the students can be driven back to campus (if they don't have the option to drive themselves) by one of our staff or board members.
