Opportunity Summary 

Work one-on-one with children in home, clinic, and/or school settings.

Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) designed by a BCBA.

Use evidence-based ABA techniques to build communication, social, and life skills.

Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

Tasks:

The student will engage in professional and pre-professional duties that allow for the demonstration of the identified learning outcomes. These duties include, but are not limited to:

Implementation of Treatment Plans: Provide direct 1:1 intervention to children across home, school, and clinic settings by accurately implementing individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a BCBA.

Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, record, and summarize behavioral data during each session to inform treatment decisions, monitor progress toward goals, and contribute to team discussions.

Skill Development Support: Use evidence-based ABA techniques to teach and generalize communication, social, and daily living skills in structured and naturalistic settings.

Collaboration and Professional Communication: Participate in case collaboration by exchanging relevant session updates with parents, teachers, and other professionals, maintaining professional standards of conduct.

Crisis and Behavior Management: Respond to challenging behaviors using approved, evidence-based strategies, documenting incidents per policy and contributing to the development of prevention and intervention strategies.

Ongoing Training and Supervision: Engage in feedback sessions, training, and supervision with BCBAs to refine clinical skills, demonstrate competency, and integrate professional development into daily practice.

Training:

1. General employer orientation
2. Foundations and principles of applied behavior analysis
3. Training in non-violent crisis intervention (NCI)
4. Individualized coaching by an ABA Supervisor

Learning Outcome:

Skill in Implementing ABA Plans – Demonstrate the ability to accurately and consistently implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a BCBA.

Applied Communication Strategies – Develop proficiency in using ABA techniques to strengthen functional communication skills across settings.

Professional Collaboration – Gain experience collaborating effectively with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary team members to support child progress.

Data Collection & Analysis – Build competence in collecting, recording, and interpreting behavioral data to inform treatment decisions.

Adaptive Teaching Across Environments – Learn to generalize ABA strategies to home, school, and clinic contexts, adjusting approaches to fit each environment.
