POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reading Fluency Tutor: Provide a minimum of 1 hour a week tutoring to a small group of elementary students in need of extra support in reading fluency and comprehension. 

Main Objective: Help elementary students achieve appropriate grade level understanding in reading. 

Scope of work: 

  1. Utilize reading comprehensions and fluency tools (provided by org) to help students grow in their ability to read at grade level.

  2. Tutor students in reading related homework assignments. 

  3. Serve as a positive adult role model in the lives of elementary students from under-resourced neighborhoods in Fullerton.

  4. Develop healthy relationships with students and team in Solidarity’s elementary after School programs
