Opportunity Summary 

1. Stack Maintenance Support • Sort material for shelving based on their destination • Shelve library new and returned materials into their proper location (includes materials in the general, Oversize, Periodical, Barahona, Curriculum, Juvenile, and other special collections) • Perform regular collection inventory and shelf reading duties • Edge and pack books as needed • Dust the stacks • Identify and report issues with item records or damaged to materials 2. Study Space Maintenance Support • Conduct regular floor sweeps • Reposition furniture in open study areas, group study rooms, and balconies • Clean tables, chairs, and carrels as needed • Clean Student Break Room, including the microwave • Occasionally empty recycle bins • Report spills, leaks, and damage to facility and furnishings as needed 3. User/Sub-Unit Support • Assist library users with locating materials and answer questions.

Must be in the Aspire Scholar Program

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Student will learn the how to maintain a library space, organize books using the proper shelving techniques, and manage a large collection of books.
