Opportunity Summary

Help our organization with Facebook account. Work our intake desk which takes calls and greets walk-in clients to see what their needs are and try to match them to resources to help them with their needs. Natalie will also help one of our Veteran Services Representatives who is wheelchair bound and needs transcription help when meeting with his Veteran clients as he tries to help them with paperwork to get their benefits.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes

We have multiple volunteer opportunities as follows; front desk volunteer greets walk-in clients, makes and calls clients for our VSR's to make and verify appointments. We research for resources for our Military, Veteran and their families. Some Vets like to volunteer to clean, do grant research or perform event set-up and take-down. We rent out rooms in our facility to help pay the bills as we're a 501 (c)3 non-profit focusing on helping our military community to include active duty, veterans and families.

Opportunity Training

Training is conducted on the job as we don't know what needs clients will come in with. We get Homeless veterans, widows looking for benefits and assistance, freshly leaving the military and look for jobs, housing or camaraderie with other veterans. We try to accommodate the various interests of our volunteers and try to find a good fit for them and us.
