Opportunity Summary 

Join AMALY as a Community Mental Health Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting diverse communities through mental health initiatives. Interns will assist with program development, outreach, and culturally responsive wellness projects while learning about the unique mental health needs of immigrant and marginalized populations. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in psychology, social work, counseling, or public health who want to make a meaningful impact while building practical skills in community-based mental health.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this opportunity, students will have gained hands-on experience in community-based mental health, learning how programs are developed and delivered to support diverse and underserved populations. They will strengthen skills in outreach, engagement, and culturally responsive care, while also deepening their understanding of the connection between individual, family, and community well-being. Additionally, students will develop professional competencies in teamwork, communication, and ethical practice within a nonprofit setting.

Opportunity Training 

Students will receive a structured onboarding process that includes HIPAA training, an introduction to community mental health, and orientation to AMALY’s programs and practices. In addition, students will participate in ongoing training sessions throughout their placement to strengthen relevant skills and knowledge.
