Opportunity Summary 

The After School Program Intern will be responsible for helping lead creative and educational activities with students in an after-school setting. They will help lead an Arts & Crafts Club, where students engage in creative projects, and provide One-on-One Tutoring to help students with academic subjects such as math, reading, and writing. The instructor will ensure a positive, engaging, and support environment for all students.

Tasks:

-Arts & Crafts Club Responsibilities:
1. Plan and Organize Activities with Director
2. Set Up and Clean Up after activities
3. Facilitate Art Projects (Shadowing Director)
4. Monitor Student Participation
-One-on-One Tutoring Responsibilities:(with Director present)
1. Assess Student Needs
2. Provide Academic Support
3. Track Academic Progress
-Provide a positive reinforcement to motivate students and help them stay focused.

Training:

Regular weekly meetings to review progress and provide mentorship

Learning Outcome:

- Develop and lead variety of age-appropriate arts and crafts activities, demonstrating the ability to adapt based on student interests and skills levels
- Assess students' academic strengths and weaknesses and tailor tutoring sessions to meet each student's unique learning needs in subjects such as math, reading, and writing
-Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging atmosphere that encourages students to participate confidently, collaborate with peers, and express their creativity
- Use effective classroom management strategies to ensure smooth transitions between activities
