Organization Description

Center for Human Services (CHS) was established as a local non-profit in 1970 to serve youth and families. Currently, CHS serves tens of thousands of children, individuals and families annually in Stanislaus County through six core program areas: Mental Health Services, Shelter Services, Youth Services, School Based Services, Substance Abuse Treatment and Family Resource Centers.

Volunteers provide additional support to existing services. This varies throughout the year. It can be anywhere from childcare, office clerk, reception, co-facilitation, mental heath interns (must be in the masters program), shelter staff (temporary runaway shelter program), etc.

Program Information

Provide short and long-term couples, family and child counseling for a variety of diagnostic issues. Will participate as a group facilitator and provide assessments. Represent the agency in a professional and competent manner. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, clients, supervisors and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, ancestry, political affiliation, citizenship, disability, medical conditions, marital status, amnesty and military or veteran status. Maintain confidentiality and confidential information in accordance with legal standards and/or agency regulations. Participate in assigned scheduled agency meetings, in-service trainings, conferences and other trainings as determined by the supervisor. Perform job duties in a safe manner to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others. Preparation of assigned reports, work records, statistical data, job performance evaluations, work plans, etc. in a timely manner.

Please have 3 Supervisory References ready at time of interview. There are 2 rounds of interviews. These interviews have 3 people on each panel.
