Are you passionate about communications, marketing, and storytelling? As a Communications Coordinator Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, marketing strategy, and nonprofit communications, all while supporting a mission-driven organization.ʻUmeke is a nonprofit dedicated to sharing and sustaining Native Hawaiian culture across the diaspora. Through programs, events, and storytelling, we empower communities to carry forward ancestral knowledge with care, integrity, and inclusivity.

Students will receive an initial orientation and training to prepare them for their assigned activities. This includes: Organization Overview: Mission, values, and cultural context of ʻUmeke. Communications & Marketing Training: Guidance on social media management, content creation, newsletter distribution, and website maintenance. Tools & Platforms: Hands-on instruction and support using Canva for design, Wix for website updates, and social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook. Ongoing Mentorship: Regular check-ins and feedback from a supervisor to support skill development and ensure successful completion of tasks.
