In Home Supportive Services
Organization Description
California’s In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program enables low-income older adults and people with disabilities to live safely and independently at home by funding consumer-directed caregiving. IHSS recipients act as the employer of record and hire, train, and supervise providers for assistance with daily living, health-related support, and community integration. The program prevents unnecessary institutionalization, preserves dignity and choice, and strengthens family- and community-based care coordination.
