Opportunity Summary

MSH has several programs county-wide that offer opportunities for students to provide case management, therapy, assessments, along with many other services to individuals impacted by behavioral health challenges.

By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned...

Students will learn how to comprehensively assess behavioral health symptoms, diagnosis and create treatment plans, as well as present a case conceptualization. Students will be part of an interdisciplinary team and hear input from medical staff, licensed clinicians, and peer support staff. Students will also understand crisis interventions and create safety plans. Beyond required trainings, students will be provided opportunities to take focused trainings on therapeutic approaches of their interest (i.e.e CBT, DBT, MI, etc). Students may also be given opportunities to attend provider network and case conference meetings.

  • Administer, conduct, or oversee an assessment process
  • Observe a professional and/or client
  • Participate in a workshop, training, or orientation
  • Participate in and/or lead outreach efforts
  • Participate in office and/or supervisor meeting
  • Received Direct Supervision
  • Serve as a client advocate/case manager
  • Serve as a counselor/therapist individually or as part of a group
  • Shadow a professional
