Opportunity Summary 

- Assisting with Kindergarten Program (morning)

- Assisting 2nd-6th Grade Teacher

- Taking Anecdotal notes for all grades

- Intro to Portfolios students and focus on one child

- Keeping the program clean and safe for the children

- Supporting Teacher Qualified staff with supervision and ratios in the afternoon

- Supporting with the serving of snack

- Learn how to plan activities and lead activities that are their own and that are created by other teachers 

Tasks:

  • Environmental layout, organization, and format
  • Creating and demonstrating conflict negotiation and problem solving steps
  • Observe and follow through her own and others lesson plans
  • Observe and interact with children during their activities
  • Be an active learner
  • Observe and take notes on children's development
  • Observe, learn, and perform different classroom management methods

Training:

The student will receive a general employee orientation, online training (mandatory reporter training, supervision, blood borne pathogens), one -on-ones with co-teacher and site supervisor, shadow teachers and site supervisor, observe and design lesson plans, and work samples of lesson, conferences, documentation, and parent communication.

Learning Outcomes:

  • The intern will learn and practice different strategies for problem solving and conflict resolution tailored to various age groups.
  • Intern will have one on ones with site superviosr and co-teacher on constructive feedback.
  • Intern will learn and practice different methods and techniques for effective classroom.
  • Intern will observe, learn, and design activities that align with and reflect with Catalyst Kids mission statement.
