ABA InternshipAt — Behavioral Autism Therapies
Student will complete all clinical and administrative tasks in a timely, accurate and professional manner. At Behavioral Autism Therapies, Frederick is employed as a Behavioral Therapist working directly with individuals with special needs, such as autism, intellectual disabilities and other disorders. He is responsible for implementing clinical programming goals (functional communication, social skills, and self-help skills) so that they may function as independently as possible while using reinforcement contingencies to decrease maladaptive behaviors such as tantrums and escape maintained behaviors.
Tasks:
Student will complete administrative and clinical tasks in an ethical and timely manner and develop an understanding of the field of their choice.
Conducts daily ABA sessions consistently, increase functionally appropriate behaviors while decreasing maladaptive behaviors with consumers, updates progress notes daily, communicates with ABA supervisor regarding any clinical/administrative concerns in a timely manner, maintain professional and ethical boundaries with consumers, their families and clinical professionals, communicates in a clear and concise manner, maintains organizational integrity of treatment process.
Training:
Further ABA instruction, development of professional goals, weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings, job shadowing, workshops/skills training.
