Opportunity Summary 

The innovative and exciting education and community engagement programs the Center offers would not be possible without charitable contributions from the community. The Development Department manages these important relationships with donors. Development Operations intern will support operational functions that maintain compliant, measurable, and sustainable fundraising efforts. The intern will gain hands on experience with the Tessitura CRM database and project management tools and principles. Responsibilities include supporting confidential prospect research and event thumbnail projects, data entry, record maintenance, quality assurance, donor mailings, and overall data integrity. 

Internship basics

  • All internships are paid at the rate of $16.90 per hour.
  • Internships require an average of 10 hours per week (built around your school schedule) over 12 weeks (120 hours total).
  • Internships offer academic credit.
  • Each semester includes 8 professional development sessions.
  • Internships offer hands-on work experiences and opportunities to build a professional network.

Requirements 

Requirements for our fall/spring internships are:

  • Interns must be authorized to work in the U.S. and must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Interns must be registered for credit from their college institution.
  • Interns must be able to complete a minimum of 120 hours IN PERSON during the 12-week internship.
  • Interns must be available to attend professional development sessions from 2pm-3pm on FridaysThis cannot be changed or waived, so please confirm your availability before applying. 

Tasks:

The Development Operations Intern will support the team’s fundraising efforts through operational support and data management, gaining hands on experience supporting a robust philanthropy team and using the Tessitura CRM database. Responsibilities will include donor mailings, confidential prospect research, data entry, reporting and supporting data integrity.

Training:

They will receive employer orientation, one-on-one meetings with department staff, bi-weekly professional development sessions, feedback and review at the end of internship.

Learning Outcome

The Development Department intern will assist several teams within the Development Department to help reach fundraising goals including Individual Giving, Grants & Foundations, Support Groups, Corporate Relations, and Special Events.
