Now hiring Behavior Specialists – perfect for students in Psychology, Education, Child Development, Sociology, Nursing, and related majors.

Are you looking for a hands-on role that lets you apply what you’re learning in the classroom? At the Center for Social Dynamics (CSD), we open a world of possibilities for individuals with autism and developmental needs—and help students like you gain real-world experience in the behavioral health field.

  • Schedule: Flexible afternoon and evening shifts (great for class schedules)

  • Training: Paid training and professional mentorship

  • Growth: Clear pathways to advance into clinical and leadership roles

  • Education Support: Free college or tuition reimbursement through our Dreams Come True program

Tasks:

As a Behavior Specialist, you’ll work directly with children and teens with autism, helping them build communication, social, and daily-living skills. You’ll learn and apply principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—a field that connects closely with psychology, education, and human services.

Typical responsibilities include:

Supporting individualized treatment plans designed by licensed clinicians

Leading fun, skill-building sessions in home, center, or community settings

Collecting data and tracking progress

Collaborating with your clinical team to adjust goals and celebrate wins

Training:

At CSD, we don’t just throw you into the field—we prepare you for it.
Every new Behavior Specialist completes a paid, structured training program that combines online learning, hands-on practice, and mentorship.

You’ll start with:

Foundations of ABA: Learn the science behind behavior change and how it’s applied in real life.

Working with Clients: Gain tools for building trust, communication, and engagement with children and families.

Safety & Ethics: Understand professional boundaries, data confidentiality, and client safety best practices.

Shadowing & Practice: Observe experienced clinicians, then practice skills with guidance and feedback.

Training is flexible and built around your schedule—most students complete it within 2–3 weeks before beginning independent sessions with ongoing support from their clinical leader.

Learning outcome:

By the end of your training and first 90 days, you will:

Apply ABA Principles: Identify and implement strategies that help clients build communication, social, and daily living skills.

Collect and Analyze Data: Record and interpret behavioral data to track progress and make informed decisions.

Communicate Professionally: Collaborate effectively with your supervisor, teammates, and families.

Demonstrate Cultural Competence: Support clients from diverse backgrounds with empathy and respect.

Develop Career Skills: Gain foundational experience in psychology, education, and healthcare that sets you up for roles such as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Clinical Leader, or BCBA.

Note:

We do work with children with Autism with potentially some behaviors but they do receive training prior to working with our clients
