After School Program InternAt — Kids Stuff Center

Engage with children on a daily basis.  Responsible for lesson planning and implementation of grade level appropriate activities.  Supervise for safety and maintain a warm and nurturing environment.

Tasks:

Lesson plan age appropriate activities
Supervise for safety in different areas of the program
Collaborate with other team members on solutions to assisting children
Discipline children to achieve desired behavior

Training:

Initial orientation going over various aspects of the programs
Job shadowing for the first 5 shifts
End of the month review with the Site Director

Learning Outcome:

Create and implement their own lesson plans
Understand effective forms of discipline with children
Work together with a team to foster an effective working environment
Feel comfortable around large groups of children
