This service-learning opportunity invites volunteers to serve as high school volleyball coaches dedicated to developing both the athletic and academic success of student-athletes. Volunteers will support players in building fundamental volleyball skills, understanding team concepts, and fostering confidence on the court. Beyond athletics, volunteers will mentor students in organizing their schoolwork, setting academic goals, and maintaining the balance required of successful student-athletes. Through consistent guidance, volunteers will help students grow in leadership, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility.

This role provides meaningful hands-on experience in youth development, coaching, and community engagement while directly impacting the lives of high school athletes. Volunteers will collaborate with school staff, attend practices and games, and serve as positive role models who reinforce the values of hard work, integrity, and commitment. This opportunity is ideal for anyone passionate about education, athletics, and mentorship.
The student will be trained through mentorship from an experienced coach, direct coaching instruction from the athletic director, and hands-on guidance during practices and games to build skills in leadership, communication, and effective support of high school student-athletes.
Opportunity Supervision
The student will receive ongoing support through regular check-ins with the athletic director, continuous mentorship from the coaching staff, supervision during practices and games, and consistent feedback to strengthen their coaching, leadership, and mentoring skills.
