Internship Description:
If you are interested in the music industry and gaining hands-on experience in client management, Mezz Entertainment’s internship in Artist Management and Promotion is a great opportunity for you. Through our internship program, students will gain hands-on experience managing and promoting clients for performance opportunities, brand collaborations, interviews, and press. Interns will work remotely for the duration of the internship with two weekly teleconference meetings as well as daily communication. This department is divided into 3 sub departments as described below:
Public Relations
Interns will:
- Promote artists to radio outlets, podcasts, online magazines, and blogs
- Create press releases and promotion material
- Develop and maintain contacts throughout music and entertainment industry
- Effectively research and pitch clients to ideal platforms
Brand Partnerships
Interns will:
- Find and research new and exciting brands
- Pitch clients to brands that align with clients image
- Maintain and develop relationships with contacts
- Help land brand partnership deals for clients
- Listen in on brand deal calls and takes notes for client manager
- Gain experience in negotiating
Artist Bookings
Interns will:
- Find and research clubs/bars/venues
- Pitch artist to clubs/bars/venues
- Help land gigs and book artist for shows
- Listen in on booking calls and take notes for client manager
Tasks:

Training:
We provide a comprehensive onboarding session for all interns, followed by specialized departmental training tailored to individual roles. Weekly meetings are scheduled to review progress, discuss ongoing tasks, and strategize for the upcoming week. Additionally, interns maintain open lines of communication with supervisors on a daily basis to ensure timely completion of tasks and alignment with project objectives.
Learning outcome:
Develop hands-on skills in artist promotion, including creating press releases, pitching to media outlets, and building relationships with entertainment-industry contacts.
Gain experience executing brand partnership outreach, from researching aligned brands to assisting in negotiations and maintaining professional relationships.
Strengthen client management abilities by supporting artist bookings, researching venues, and helping secure performance opportunities.
Enhance communication and pitching skills through daily collaboration, note-taking on calls, and presenting clients to media, brands, and venues.
Build a professional understanding of the music industry ecosystem, including PR, brand deals, and artist booking processes.
Community Engagement- Learn strategies for fostering online communities, including responding to comments and messages, initiating conversations, and implementing tactics to increase follower engagement and brand loyalty.
Analytics and Metrics- Gain proficiency in using social media analytics tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize content and campaigns for better reach, engagement, and conversion.
Social Media Strategy Development- Learn how to develop comprehensive social media strategies aligned with organizational goals, including identifying target demographics, defining brand voice and messaging, conducting competitor analysis, and adapting strategies based on market trends and platform algorithm changes.
