Opportunity Summary 

The focus of this internship is to provide a hybrid learning experience about establishing real-world approaches to intractable environmental problems like the one Plastic Beach is taking on - flex film and bagging plastic recycling, including community education and engagement - to drive real, much needed, changes in how we can tackle microplastics in our environment.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

1. Business development 2. Community outreach, including campus engagement 3. Effects, and scale of waste-stream plastics in our environment 4. Real-world non-profit management and leadership insight

Opportunity Training 

Training on Plastic Beach's mission and event strategies will be provided

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students may volunteer to assist in a warehouse environment sorting flex plastic but will not be asked to operate machinery. 

*PPE Training will be provided by the site.
