Opportunity Summary 

As a CM CPA tax intern, you will get to have so much fun learning about accounting, taxes, real-life public accounting, and more importantly, the teamwork mentality.

What you will be doing:

  • Prepare Individual, basic Business tax returns on behalf of clients
  • Work with the tax team on client projects
  • Develop an understanding of accounting and tax software
  • Learn administrative, professional and interpersonal skills to the extent of being able to organize, analyze and communicate with others in a productive and efficient manner

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, speak, and interpret rules, procedures, and routine correspondence in English
  • Did take and got a B or higher in the first two basic accounting classes of Accounting major.
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles
  • Completion of basic tax class
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required

Using data provided by clients to prepare workpaper in Excel then translate that into tax software and produce tax returns. A lot of communication with clients via Outlook and phone calls to request missing information. Reconcile bookkeeping.

Training:

Daily hands-on guidance from seniors on each project.
Weekly group settings regarding workload and prioritize work.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Understand debit and credit very well of many industries
2. Ability to prepare simple personal tax returns (Fed + California)
3. Ability to communicate effectively in teams setting.
