Opportunity Summary 

The Electrical Contracting Intern will assist the office team with day-to-day administrative tasks that support ongoing electrical projects. Duties include organizing project files, updating spreadsheets, preparing paperwork, answering phone calls, and helping with scheduling and communication between the office and field staff. The intern may also help track materials, gather information for reports, and support basic office operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to learn how an electrical contracting business is run and gain experience in project organization and office administration.

Tasks:

*Organize and maintain project files, paperwork, and digital records.
*Assist with data entry, updating spreadsheets, logs, and schedules.
*Support communication between office staff and field crews by relaying messages and gathering information.
*Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and help manage general office inquiries.
*Prepare basic documents such as forms, reports, and job folders.
*Help track materials, deliveries, and project-related information.
*Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and job site visits.
*Maintain office supplies and help keep the workspace organized.
*Shadow office staff to learn workflow and assist with routine administrative tasks as needed.

Training:

The intern will receive hands-on training designed to build foundational administrative skills within an electrical contracting environment. Training will include an introduction to company operations, office procedures, and project documentation practices. The intern will learn how to organize and maintain project files, use scheduling and communication tools, and assist with basic project tracking. They will be guided in proper phone and email etiquette, data entry, and material logging. The training will also include shadowing office staff to understand workflow, observing communication between project managers and field teams, and gradually taking on routine administrative responsibilities with supervision. This training provides practical experience in a professional office setting, with ongoing support and feedback to help the intern grow.
