Advocacy and Development InternAt — San Diegans for Gun Violence Prevention

Opportunity Summary 

SD4GVP is a coalition of concerned citizens united to end gun violence in America. Our coalition includes many gun violence prevention organizations, such as Brady United Against Violence, Moms Demand Action, and the United Nations Association, to name a few. They and individual citizens are stepping up to change our laws and prevent gun violence once and for all, through advocacy and education, legislation and outreach to candidates in local, state and federal races with our gun violence priorities for the 2026 elections. We also prominently engage in social media, community and youth outreach and advocacy.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

This internship may involve researching and drafting articles and brochures on gun violence prevention; researching and vetting candidates for organizational endorsement; researching gun violence prevention legislation; attending community, governmental, political and youth organization meetings to develop relationships and initiatives and education on gun violence prevention; creation and support of youth engagement; and educational events and ongoing development of social medica presence.

Opportunity Training 

On the job training by one or more direct supervisors will be ongoing.
