The Public Relations & Communications Intern will participate in a structured, supervised internship designed to provide hands-on experience in professional communications, storytelling, and media relations. This role emphasizes content creation, brand messaging, and public relations outreach in a creative business environment.
Under the supervision of the Creative Director, the intern will support content creation for social media, write articles about company events, and pitch stories to local media outlets. This internship provides experience in professional writing, audience engagement, and strategic communications.
Tasks:
Under supervision, the intern will:
Draft social media captions and scripts aligned with brand voice and messaging guidelines
Write articles covering pop-up events at studio location and other company initiatives
Pitch articles or story ideas to local news outlets and media contacts
Edit and refine written content based on supervisor feedback
Maintain organized documentation of all content and outreach efforts
Participate in weekly check-ins to review progress and discuss strategy
Training:
Students will receive a structured onboarding and ongoing training program. Training will begin with a general employer orientation, including an overview of the organization, brand voice, professional expectations, and communications goals.
The intern will receive training in:
Crafting written content for social media, blogs, and press materials
Reviewing and editing content according to brand guidelines
Media outreach procedures, including pitching to local news outlets and journalists
Tracking communications efforts using shared spreadsheets or workflow systems
The intern will participate in weekly one-on-one mentor meetings to review writing assignments, receive feedback, and discuss skill development.
Learning Outcome:
