Opportunity Summary 

The Community Relations & Outreach Intern will participate in a structured, supervised internship designed to provide hands-on experience in community engagement, relationship building, and outreach strategy within a professional creative business environment. This role emphasizes communication skills, professionalism, and strategic outreach while prioritizing student safety and remote collaboration.

Under the supervision of the Creative Director the intern will support outreach efforts primarily through virtual communication methods, including email, phone, and Zoom meetings. In-person engagement will be limited to on-site pop-up or community events hosted at the tattoo studio location under direct supervision.

This internship is designed to support academic learning outcomes related to public relations, communications, marketing, and business development.

Tasks:

Conduct community outreach primarily through email, phone calls, and Zoom meetings

Research and communicate with potential community partners, organizations, and collaborators

Assist in planning and coordinating on-site pop-up or community events held at the tattoo studio

Track outreach efforts, contacts, and follow-ups using shared spreadsheets or tracking tools

Draft professional outreach messages aligned with brand values and communication standards

Training:

Students will receive a structured onboarding and ongoing training program to support learning outcomes. Training will begin with a general orientation, including an overview of the organization, brand values, community engagement goals, and professional expectations.

The intern will receive training on outreach strategy, professional email and phone etiquette, partnership tracking, and documentation practices. The supervisor will provide guidance on how to conduct virtual meetings, draft outreach communications, and follow up with community partners.

Training will also include an overview of event coordination procedures for pop-up events hosted at the tattoo studio, including safety expectations, communication protocols, and professional conduct. The intern will participate in weekly one-on-one mentor meetings to review outreach progress, receive feedback, and reflect on skill development.
