Clinical InternAt — Silver Lining Recovery
Position Summary:
The Undergraduate Clinical Intern will gain hands-on field experience in an outpatient mental health setting under the supervision of licensed clinicians. This role is designed to support academic learning objectives while exposing the intern to clinical operations, client care processes, and multidisciplinary treatment delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Observe and assist with group therapy sessions and psychoeducational groups
• Shadow licensed clinicians during individual therapy sessions, intakes, and discharge planning (within scope and program guidelines)
• Support group facilitation and therapeutic activities as appropriate to training level
• Participate in treatment team meetings and case discussions
• Assist with intake coordination, documentation support, and administrative clinical tasks
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards in accordance with HIPAA and program policies
Learning Outcomes:
• Exposure to outpatient clinical workflows and levels of care
• Experience in group dynamics and therapeutic interventions
• Understanding of intake, assessment, treatment planning, and discharge processes
• Development of professional communication and clinical observation skills
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
• Eligible for academic/field credit through college or university
• Strong interest in mental health, behavioral health, or clinical services
• Professional demeanor and willingness to learn in a clinical environment
Supervision & Evaluation:
The intern will receive regular supervision and feedback from licensed staff to support academic requirements and professional development.
